Meet Omar Gallaga

We're glad to welcome Omar L. Gallaga to Helical Healing Habitat's Board of Directors, where he will serve as Secretary. Omar has advised HHH on messaging and materials, and we're fortunate to have that counsel move onto the board itself.

A journalist based in Central Texas, Omar has spent three decades covering the technology industry and the culture around it for CNET, WIRED, The Los Angeles Times, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and NPR, where he helped originate the network's All Tech Considered segments. He was a longtime reporter, editor, podcaster, and columnist at the Austin American-Statesman, and is a founding member of Austin's award-winning Latino Comedy Project.

Three decades of making complex technology legible to a general audience is the discipline he brings to HHH as we introduce heliciculture and EscarGrow to farmers, educators, and funders who are meeting both for the first time.
